AVYFA Kickoff Bowl at Boron

We participated in the AVYFA Kickoff Bowl on August 23, 2008 in Boron. Sixty-two teams from all thirteen AVYFA communities played scrimmages. Each team got to scrimmage with three or four other teams. We do not have pictures from all of the scrimmages. Pictures Here.

RIM @ Mammoth

The Rookies came out to play under coaches James Gray, Bobbie Pina and Ethan Kurashewich. For some of these 6-8 year olds this was their first game ever of tackle football. This is a training team so scores are not kept. Highlights included a 40 yard run by Ramon Yanez and a long run by Otto Gubser. All of the Rookies put their heart into the game.

NO GAME - Mojave does not have a Rookie Team.

Kern Valley @ Mammoth

The Rookies had a good day. Javier Tapia got in a long run to the 1 yard line. Ramon Yanez got in long runs including 50 yard and 77 yard touchdowns. Rookies are a learning division so no score is kept but they did well.

Bishop @ Bishop

Mammoth Youth Football went to Bishop on October 4 on what turned out to be a beautiful fall Eastern Sierra day. The Rookies were up first. Ramon Yanez was all over the field breaking tackles for first downs, tackling Broncos to stop their progress and scoring on a 50 yard run. Bishop's passing and ground game was strong. No score is kept for this learning division. Everyone had a great game.

Lancaster @ Lancaster

Rookie Game CANCELLED.

Trona @ Mammoth

Javier Tapia started off the Rookies with a 30 yard run. Ramon Yanez broke tackles for a good gain. Carter DeAngelis scored and Javier took in the point after. Julian Saulque ran 35 yards and Riley Beaudean scored a touchdown. Ramon moved the ball for a series of first downs and scored on a 30 yard run. Everyone played a great game. The Rookies are a training division so no score is kept.

Boron @ Boron

Javier Tapia scored a 40 yard touchdown and moved the ball with first downs. Ramon Yanez scored on a 60 yard run and tackled many Wildcats. Julian Saulque, Dylan Eastridge, Riley Beaudean and others tackled hard and limited Boron's movement. The Rookies are a training division so no score is kept.
