Rim of the World Football Field Map

RIM Youth Football Games are played on the Rim of The World High School football field located at 27400 Highway 18, eight tenths of a mile east of Rimforest.

Directions to the Football Field

Driving distance from Mammoth Lakes is about 300 miles. Allow six hours driving time in good weather.

Proceed south on U.S. Highway 395 about 264 miles to the junction with Interstate 15.

Proceed southwest toward San Bernardino on Interstate 15 for about 9 miles to the junction with State Route 138. There is a gas station and food at this junction.

From this point you have two route choices. Route 1 in RED is about 28 miles from this point, about an hours drive. Route 2 in BLUE is about 35 miles from this point, about an hours drive - may be quicker since the road is less windy than Route 1. Common portion of the routes is in GREEN.

From the junction of State Route 138 and State Route 18, continue east toward Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear on State Route 18. Continue about 6 miles thru the town of Rimforest to Rim of the World High School. The field is behind the school. The following directions will take you to the field via the back road.

Rim of the World High School is 8 tenths of a mile past the town of Rimforest on Highway 18. You will pass a side road (Daley Canyon Road) to the left (north) leading to the town of Blue Jay. Continue straight. Shortly after passing this side road, just around a curve, you will come to a flashing yellow light (school zone). Turn left (north) at the flashing yellow light onto a road that goes a short distance toward the school bus yard, then bends right to the field and a parking lot.

Lodging and Eating Information

In Rimforest on Highway 18 about a mile west of the school is a Domino's Pizza takeout and The Original Cottage restaurant that has booths and serves pizza, spaghetti, burgers and more. There is a McDonalds in Crestline, Blue Jay and the Lake Arrowhead Village resort center. There is a Subway in the Lake Arrowhead Village resort center.

CAUTION: If you don't know your way around Lake Arrowhead, allow a lot of extra time ... you may get lost. To go to Lake Arrowhead, you can drive to Blue Jay and then continue to Lake Arrowhead Village OR continue east on Highway 18, past the high school a little over a mile, to Highway 173 and turn left (north) about two miles to Lake Arrowhead Village.
